Model for the design of functional micro-structured surfaces. Choosing which microstructural surface pattern needs to be applied on a polymer part in order to obtain a targeted surface functionality is a major challenge. Usual approaches involve the experimental testing of various microstructural surface textures followed by functional characterisation of their resulting behaviour.

HIMALAIA project aims to develop a predictive model in order to correlate the geometry of micron and sub-micron structures with their functional response on polymer parts.
